Since April 2025, the Monsoons Project has included the participation of History students from the Federal University of Viçosa, who are contributing to research on the presence of New Christians in the Estado da Índia. Under the local
coordination of Professor Angelo Adriano Faria de Assis, the group is analyzing a wide range of documentation produced between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, with the aim of expanding knowledge about the world of New Christians across the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific.
