Rachel Miller - Chief of Archive & Library Services
Overseeing the managers, activities, budgets, and grant-funded projects of the seven departments that make up the Archives and Library Services division, Rachel Miller leads the Center’s innovative team of archivists, librarians, conservators, digital photographers, and exhibition staff. She works closely with the Center’s board and executive team, determines priorities for fundraising, collaborates with the partners, and informs long-term institutional strategic planning. At the Center since 2008, Miller has served as project manager/director across a decade of successful grants at the Center, including an NEH CARES grant, an NEH-funded preservation project, a digitization project funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), and three projects funded by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). Miller holds an MLIS from Rutgers University.

Eric Fritzler - Senior Manager for Metadata & Discovery
Eric Fritzler has held increasingly senior roles in metadata and discovery at the Center since 2008. He also served as a processing archivist for over three years for the American Jewish Historical Society, one of the Center’s partners. Since 2017, he has worked as Senior Manager for Metadata & Discovery, heading a department that manages Center library, archive, and museum systems that control, describe, preserve, and provide access to all of the physical and digital holdings of the five partner institutions. This includes over 8.3 million digital assets. Fritzler earned an MLIS from Wayne State University and holds a Master’s in Philosophy from Western Michigan University.

Sarah Hopley - Senior Manager for Collection Services
Sarah Hopley joined the Center in 2017, overseeing archivists, conservators, digital photographers, and exhibit staff and their projects across four departments. Hopley manages the Center’s current Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) digitization grant in collaboration with the Museum of Chinese in America. Previously, she was the Director of Special Collections and Exhibits at Murray State University in Kentucky, and she also managed an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) statewide preservation grant for the Wisconsin Historical Society. She holds a MLIS with a concentration in archives from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Lauren Gilbert - Senior Manager for Public Services
Lauren Gilbert joined the Center in early 2019 on the heels of 18 years in public and academic libraries in reference, outreach, and public programming. In her current role, she oversees public services that provide access to the partner collections for scholars, students, genealogists, educators, and the general public in the Center’s Lillian Goldman Reading Room and Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute. Prior to the Center, she served as the Head of Community Services for eight years at the Sachem Public Library on Long Island. She holds an MLS from the Palmer School of Long Island University and a Certificate in Archives and Manuscripts.
